Biography

Steve has more than 20 years planning experience and a background which extends from working for all government levels in Australia, the local government and private sector in the UK and managing planning projects in China.

Steve provides expertise in statutory and strategic planning, coastal planning, retail planning and expert evidence.

Provision of advice to all levels of government on planning policy and systems reform. This includes local government on plan making, as well as the Queensland government in planning processes, building certification and coastal management. Steve’s role in the Australian planning industry extends to the influential role of working with the Commonwealth Government on implementing legislation and procedures aimed to protect biodiversity.

Provision of strategic development advice to the private sector on development projects throughout Queensland, from initial site selection through to implementation issues affected by the planning process. During his time in the industry he has successfully managed multi-disciplinary teams to produce innovative and successful project outcomes, including various masterplanning projects in The People’s Republic of China.

Steve has qualifications in planning and environmental science. He is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia and the Queensland Environmental Law Association and is a past President of the Brisbane Development Association.
